This is the great lesson of Philippians chapter 1: individually—and as a community—we can demonstrate that God is in control by living as if God is in control. Our actions become the message. Our lives—individually and corporately—become the Good News. We can demonstrate to the watching world that we confidently believe God is in control.
Based Paul's letter to the Philippians which was written in the historical context of the early church and the difficult persecutions those first Christ-followers faced, this 4-week series shows how believers are intended to be ambassadors of the gospel even in the midst of seasons of loss, pain, and suffering by holding fast to the indomitable hope of the gospel that gives them peace and joy even in the darkest hour.
The second chapter of Philippians puts us in touch with the worship of the earliest Christians, and the very heart of what it means to follow Jesus. When Paul wrote his letter to comfort the brothers and sisters in Philippi, he pointed to Jesus as our example. The heart of our faith is to follow the humble example of Jesus, especially in times of trial and persecution. His example of humility and service is within our reach. Indeed, it is our calling, both individually and as a church.

I want to be a blessing.
Jesus said in Luke 6:38, “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
